How to Get Your Group to the Airport on Time

by Elliot Simpson

Do you have to get a group of family or friends to the airports? This can be a stressful time, and running late may result in missing your flight entirely. So, how can you get your group to their gate in plenty of time? Here are a few simple tips.

Hire a Car.

An airport limo or executive car adds a little expense to the trip, but it may be a great help. All your group members are in the same vehicle, meaning you ensure that no one gets lost, runs late, or hits traffic. At the airport, there is no confusion about meeting up and everyone goes through security together. If the trip is exciting or nerve-wracking, you also prevent anyone from driving while emotionally charged. To learn more about airport limos, contact services such as PEACE LIMOUSINE & CAR SERVICE.

Leave Extra Time.

Obviously, you want to leave for the airport early enough to allow plenty of time to make your way through the airport. But with a group, you do well to plan an even earlier arrival time. If anyone is new to flying, is a nervous flyer, or needs to handle last-minute tasks, you have time to allow them what they need without stressing over your flight time.

Meet Early.

Assess your group's tendency to arrive early or late to events, and be realistic about how to set a departure time. If you have any members who are habitually late, set the meeting time at least 30 minutes before the airport car arrives. If doing so for chronically late members, discuss the real plan with those who do arrive in a timely manner so no one waits extraordinarily long. Remind everyone of the meeting time the day before you leave.

Familiarize Yourself.

Before the day of departure, take the time to familiarize yourself with the route to the airport as well as the airport itself. Even if you have a driver, knowing where you're going will help you leave at the right time and plan any stops that need to be made before you arrive. Learn the basic layout of the airport by looking at its website. Where is security, check-in, or baggage drop-off in relation to the drop off location? What amenities — such as food, drinks, and shops — are available both before and after security? And how do you get from security to the gates of your airline?

A little bit of planning ahead will result in the best start possible for your trip. And then you can sit back, relax, and focus on the fun instead.
